The Birder’s Inn

Privacy policy

How The Birder’s Inn handles the personal information you share with us when you use this website, get in touch or stay with us.

Last updated 7 November 2026

Who we are

The Birder’s Inn, Bird Sanctuary Road, Bharatpur 321001, Rajasthan, India is a family-run lodge beside Keoladeo National Park. If you have a question about this policy, write to bookings@birdersinn.com or call +91 72979 91613.

What we collect

  • When you send an enquiry: the details you choose to include, such as your name, travel dates, number of guests, room and meal plan, and any message.
  • When you write, call or message us: your name, your contact details and whatever you tell us.
  • When you stay with us: the identity details that hotels in India are required to record, including passport and visa details for guests from abroad.
  • When you browse: the basic technical information any website receives, such as your browser type and the pages you view, which may appear in our hosting provider’s server logs, and visit statistics gathered by Google’s measurement tools (see our cookie policy).

How the enquiry form works

The enquiry form on our Reservations page does not send anything to us or store anything on this website. When you press send, it opens WhatsApp or your own email app with your details filled in, and nothing leaves your device until you send that message yourself.

Once sent, your message is handled under WhatsApp’s or your email provider’s own terms, as well as this policy.

How we use it

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

  • To reply to your enquiry and send you our current tariff.
  • To arrange your stay, meals, naturalists, transfers and excursions.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as guest registration and tax records.
  • To stay in touch with you about your booking.

Who we share it with

Only who we need to, in order to look after you or to follow the law:

  • The drivers, naturalists and guides we arrange for you, who receive only what they need for the trip.
  • Government authorities, where the law requires it, for example for guest registration.
  • The service providers that run our email, telephone and this website.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies of its own. It uses Google Tag Manager to load Google’s measurement tools, which count visits and show how the site is used; these, and the embedded Google map, may set cookies under Google’s own privacy policy. Our cookie policy has the details.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as we need it to look after your stay, and afterwards for as long as the law requires, for example for tax and guest registration records.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. This includes your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Write to bookings@birdersinn.com and we will reply as soon as we can.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable care to protect the information you give us, and we limit access to the people who need it to look after your stay.

Children

This website is not aimed at children. Details about children reach us only from the adult making the booking.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
